Blurring the lines between chef, artist, entrepreneur and inventor, David Burke stands as one of the leading pioneers in American cooking today.  His fascination with the art of the meal has fueled a career marked by creativity and critical acclaim.

Burke, at age 26, won France’s coveted Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Diplome d’Honneur Additionally, Burke has been honored with Japan’s Nippon Award of Excellence, the Robert Mondavi Award of Excellence, and the CIA’s August Escoffier Award. 

Nation’s Restaurant News named Burke one of the 50 Top R&D Culinarians and Time Out New York honored him as the “Best Culinary Prankster”. In 2009, Burke was inducted into the “Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America” by the James Beard Foundation.

Burke also won the distinctive, Menu Masters Award from Nation’s Restaurant News as one of the nation’s most celebrated innovators. Star Chefs, awarded Chef Burke with the “Contribution to American Cuisine Award”.

In 2012, Burke was honored at Johnson & Wales University with the Distinguished Visiting Chef Award, which is given to the world’s most influential chefs.

In the same year, he was named Restaurateur of the Year by the New Jersey Restaurant Association and was honored with a Concierge Choice Award, in New York City hospitality, winning best chef award. In 2013, he was recognized by Restaurant Hospitality magazine as having one of the “Coolest Multi Concept Companies in the Land,” a nod to Burke’s many original and enviable restaurant concepts.

Burke has published two cookbooks, Cooking with David Burke and his second, David Burke’s New American Classics.
